I want to take a moment to Praise Jesus.
I wouldn’t be where I am today without his help, guidance and healing.
My Health Deteriorated
Back in August of this year, I was hospitalized for 5 days because my health got out of control.
I couldn’t swallow food/drinks, couldn’t breath/walk normally, couldn’t lift anything, slept all the time because my body was fighting itself, barely functioned on the daily, needed help with normal tasks even though I knew I “could” do them, hands and feet turned bluish/purple due to cold, and much much more. All of these symptoms were issues that led to me finding out about my diagnosis.
I got diagnosed with Myositis and Scleroderma. They are both auto immune diseases with no cure, but can go into remission. If you saw me back in August before I got the help I needed, then you would know how much I’ve improved since then.
Struggled With Hope
I knew the Good Lord was there with me throughout it all, (Deuteronomy 31:6) but I still questioned if I was going to get better or if I was just going to keep getting worse.
March was when I had made the call to get my appointment scheduled. Unfortunately, I had to wait 5 months before I could see a Specialist. During that waiting period, my health just kept declining. Sadly, there was nothing I could do to move my appointment closer. During that time, all I could do was trust God, and unfortunately, it was hard. I questioned my faith, my hope, everything. Depression was at an all time high for me because I just didn’t feel like myself.
The days where I struggled the most, I wrote my prayers down in my journal. I hoped with writing them down that I would be able to look back on them and see how different my health could be.
To this day, I still look back on them and am in awe of how Good our Lord is. I don’t know how I had so much faith some days, but thankfully the Good Lord was watching over me and kept me in his care.
Healing Journey
The day that I got discharged from the hospital, I stared at the sunset on my way home. I kept saying “Thank you Jesus”. I was just so happy that I had amazing doctors that took immediate action and saved me. With everyone praying for me and with my body taking in all the medicine with no issue, I was truly thankful.
There’s a reason why we have people who work in the medical field. God gives us the tools that are necessary to live this life.
I fought this battle for over a year. As of today, I am healing and I have been feeling more like myself as the months go by. I’ve been working extremely hard on dieting and exercising and I’m so proud of myself for how much progress I have made.
One thing I’m very grateful for, is that the medications I am taking are working to help my body. Another goes to Jesus for giving me my life back.
