How to Deal with Conviction

Oh yes, CONVICTION. It’s not easy, but as followers of Christ we NEED conviction when necessary and appropriate. We’re supposed to call each other when a fellow brother or sister in Christ falls short. BUT, we’re called to call out in a LOVING way.

If you use conviction in a way that is not LOVING, then no wonder no one is going to listen to you. Conviction doesn’t feel good, but it’s not meant to TEAR someone down. It’s meant for them to UNDERSTAND & LEARN. Thats WHY we’re called to do it in a LOVING way. Romans 14:19-21 “So let us try to do what makes peace and helps one another. Do not let the eating of food destroy the work of God. All foods are all right to eat, but it is wrong to eat food that causes someone else to sin. It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that will cause your brother to sin”. As Christians, if we notice OURSELVES or our FRIENDS doing something that can cause them to stumble, then we’re called to take ACTION. Now, don’t get me wrong we ALL mess up at times. That’s normal, and it’s ok! But if people notice it getting to a point where the stumbling and falling happen more often then normal, then THATS when action needs to be taken. Not because we want someone to feel terrible, but because it’s what CHRIST wants for His Children. He wants us to realize what’s going on and to take the NECESSARY action to FIX our behaviors/actions.

For anyone, conviction doesn’t feel good. It’s not supposed to. But I know, I’d rather have my friends call me out when something seems off then to watch me continue to stumble and fall. Friends that want to see you THRIVE and PURSUE JESUS ARE REAL FRIENDS. They CARE about your well being. They don’t want to see you getting drunk, swearing up a storm, using the Lords name in vain, abusing drugs, etc. They want what’s BEST FOR YOU! If you have friends like that, THANK THE LORD FOR THEM! CHERISH THEM! SHOW THEM HOW MUCH YOU LOVE & APPRECIATE THEM! Friends like that don’t come around often, but when they do, it’s a big BLESSING 🙏❤️

The reason sin FEELS GOOD, is because it’s in our FLESH. But our FLESH doesn’t come to HEAVEN, our SOULS do. That’s why we’re called to DIE to our flesh EVERYDAY. It’s not always EASY, we’re NOT perfect, and that’s ok! JESUS KNOWS WERE HUMAN AND NOT PERFECT! He just wants us to acknowledge and to come to him! Repent and ask for forgiveness! He loves you SO MUCH that he wants what’s BEST FOR YOU! He doesn’t want you to go through PAIN, he wants you to live a JOYFUL life! BUT, that does come with accepting Him 🙏

At the end of the day, what’s more worth it? Eternal life with Jesus or Eternal life in Pain?
