Show Yourself Grace

Be proud of yourself. There are going to be days where you may not want to get out of bed. You might be so drained or even exhausted that you don’t want to do anything. The little things are improvements. It can be hard to lift yourself up when you’re struggling but do it! The more you talk encouraging words to yourself, the more you’ll want to tackle the day.

For myself, I have learned that when I degrade myself, it doesn’t get me anywhere. All it does is bring me down. There are some days where I speak more positivity to myself than other days, that’s ok. What isn’t ok is only saying negative thoughts. That won’t help you. If you wouldn’t let your daughter or son, say negative things about themselves, why would you do that to yourself? Don’t get into the habit of negatively talking about yourself, for it to move onto your kids.

God would never say hurtful words you, so why would you say them to yourself? Psalms 139:14, “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

There are going to be hard times, but we’re strong enough to get passed them. Philippians 4:13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” God can give us the strength we need to endure the hard times; we just need to ask. John 16:24, “Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.” He wants to help you; he wants you to seek him.

What I have learned is that when you study and work really hard for something, the reward pays off. The things that I want are a big struggle for me. School is hard. Working out is hard. There are days where I would like to quit, but I’ve learned to preserve because I know that my hard will pay off.

Not everything in life comes easy. Thats why we have to work hard for the stuff we want. I think it’s a good thing that we have to work hard honestly. It shows us how strong we are and that we can overcome the biggest obstacles. Right now, I’m in a course that is kicking my butt. It is honestly the hardest class I’ve taken, but I am not going to let a hard class stop me from getting my degree. There have been days where I cried. There have been days where I wanted to give up. But, with studying and determination, I know I can get this class done. When you put the time and effort for the things you want, beautiful things will happen. Give yourself and give yourself time. Don’t rush the process.
